The format of "Kochav Nolad" is similar to the British show Pop Idol or the French show Nouvelle Star.
The first season of "Kochav Nolad" was held from May to August 2003.
The final of this season was held at Nitzanim coast in front of 7,000 people in the audience. Ninet Tayeb won the first place , Shiri Maimon came second, and Shay Gabso with the song reached the third place .
